With rebrowned twist sighted barrels signed 'IMPROVED ELEVATION' and engraved with scrollwork on the Manton-type elevated rib, engraved patent breeches each with pierced platinum plug and large vented pillars, tang engraved with foliage inhabited by a hound and game birds, border and scroll engraved flat locks each signed 'JAMES PURDEY' on gold-inlaid ribbons, figured walnut half-stock with chequered grip, engraved iron mounts including grip-safety, silver escutcheons and barrel-bolt escutcheons, and associated brass-mounted ramrod, London proof marks
