SIGNED GEORG CHRISTENSEN, KROBENHAVN, SERIAL NO. 2502, CIRCA 1860
With twist sighted barrels signed 'GEORG CHRISTENSEN KROBENHAVN' on the rib, action, tang, back-action island locks, levers, fore-end and mounts all profusely engraved with foliage and tendrils, figured walnut butt (cracked around action) carved in relief with further foliage and tendrils, green-velvet- covered raised cheek-piece, sling mounts, and escutcheon engraved with the crowned coat of arms of the Countess Danner (iron parts discoloured with some minor scattered surface corrosion marking throughout), in original close-fitted leather-covered case (some wear and minor damage) lined in red velvet with accessories including Hawksley powder-flask and reloading tools, the exterior tooled with lines and scrollwork and with applied brass plaque engraved with the Countess Danner's full crowned coat of arms with supporters
