With two-stage barrel in the Spanish manner with prominent turned muzzle, turned girdle and tapering octagonal breech section decorated with gold-inlaid foliage, tang en suite, signed rounded lock engraved with rococo ornament and with water-drains to the priming-pan, moulded figured walnut full stock carved in relief with foliage behind the barrel-tang and rear ramrod-pipe, and with a crown and scrolls inlaid in silver wire at the wrist, iron mounts finely chiselled in low relief with further rococo ornament against a gilt stippled ground, and later horn-tipped ramrod
