Converted from flintlock, with swamped octagonal barrel with silver fore-sight, signed 'H.W. MORTIMER LONDON GUN MAKER TO HIS MAJESTY' and inlaid with two gold lines at the breech, foliate engraved tang incorporating the standing rear-sight, engraved flat bevelled bolted lock signed within a cartouche, figured walnut full stock with chequered butt and pommel carved in low relief with foliage, set trigger, engraved iron mounts, and later ramrod; together with A CASED 32-BORE DOUBLE-BARRELLED PERCUSSION PISTOL, CIRCA 1840, with twist sighted barrels, border and scroll engraved back-action locks, figured full stock with chequered butt, and white metal escutcheon (stirrup ramrod missing), Birmingham proof marks, in associated close-fitted oak case with some accessories
