A CASED PAIR OF 32-BORE PERCUSSION BOXLOCK POCKET PISTOLS

With browned twist sighted octagonal barrels each engraved with band of foliage at the muzzle, case-hardened scroll engraved breeches and actions, the latter each signed in full on the top-strap, chequered figured walnut butts, case-hardened scroll engraved butt-caps each with hinged trap-cover engraved with flower-head, blued scroll engraved trigger-guards, blued belt-hooks, silver escutcheons, stirrup-ramrods each with blued under-barrel housing, and much original faded finish throughout, London proof marks, in original fitted mahogany case lined with dark blue velvet with Sykes brass-mounted copper three-way pistol-flask, and a silvered medal marked 'TIR GASTINNE RENETTE PARIS CONCOURS 1889' and 'PRIX A M. Louis T. HAGGIN', the lid with Parker, Field & Sons trade label, the exterior with shaped brass escutcheon incorporating the flush-fitting brass carrying-handle
