The following lots formed part of the wardrobe of the late Miss Jean Scroggie, a close personal friend of Jean Muir, and one of the the very first journalists to draw attention to the designer by featuring her work in the pages of the Daily Telegraph, for whom she worked as Woman's Editor. She later became Associate Editor of Homes & Gardens, a post she held for many years.
Miss Scroggie wore Jean Muir's clothes with flair and distinction and is said, indeed, to have been one of Jean Muir's Three Muses: Joanna Lumley as the glamourous bean pole, Claire Conway as the elegant blonde and Jean Scroggie as the cool, professional woman, who needed practical, elegant clothes of the kind Jean Muir designed to perfection.
