Alexis Delahogue travelled with his twin brother Eugène from Algiers to El Kantara and Biskra. They exhibited together and were both members of the Socitié des Peintres Orientalistes and the Société des Artistes Algériens et Orientalistes. Alexis exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français, of which he was a member. He was a prolific painter of vibrant scenes of Algerian life.
