The case of typical form, the double-arched hood surmounted by giltwood figural finials, the door lenticle with mount depicting The Rape of Europe, the engraved arched dial with moonphase, with C-scrolling spandrels and silvered chapter ring, the matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring, engraved signature plaque signed Theunis Haakma Leeuwarden, and date aperture above VI, the four-pillar brass movement with anchor escapement and Dutch strike on two bells; pendulum, two large brass weights, winding key and door key
