Gouache heightened with gold on paper, a prince kneels on a gold embroidered carpet before a sage, behind them a pavilion and a large blossoming tree, lines of black nasta'liq above and below in clouds reserved against pink hatched ground with blue leafy flourishes, verso with 17ll. of similar black nasta'liq, miniature between gold and black geometric minor borders, minor areas of wormholing, mounted, framed and glazed

Please note that this painting is from a dispersed manuscript of the Majalis al-Ushak by Husayn b. Isma'il al-Gazurgahi written and painted in Bokhara under 'Abd al-Aziz Khan Shaybani around 1650. Many of the miniatures are signed by the artist Farhad, to whom this painting can be attributed.
