Persian manuscript on buff paper, 307ff. plus 2 fly-leaves, each folio with 23ll. of black nasta'liq arranged in four columns divided by orange and gold intercolumnar rules, text panels outlined in gold and polychrome, catchwords, headings in white nasta'liq on a gold ground with polychrome illumination, the text with 23 contemporaneous illustrations in gouache heightened with gold, bifolios with illustrations also with text in clouds reserved against gold ground, opening folio with gold and polychrome illuminated headpiece and text in clouds reserved against gold ground, eight further similar illuminations in the text, colophon dated Rabi' I 1023, first and final fly-leaves with later owner's notes, folios trimmed, in later green European morocco with gold tooled decoration, marbled paper doublures
