Opaque and transparent pigments with gold on paper, the princess depicted at the city's gate and then within the palace inner courtyard with her family, her escort led by an elephant standing before the city's walls, with blue and red borders, the reverse with numbering in devanagari and Urdu, minor flaking, otherwise in good condition

The Naishadha-carita is an epic poem recounting the romance between the hero, Nala, and his wife, Damayanti.
Another page from a Naishadha-carita of Shri Harsha series, of identical dimensions, is in the Brooklyn Museum and probably comes from the same series at the present painting (81.192.9, https://www.brooklynmuseum.org/opencollection/objects/108671/Page_from_ a_Naishadha-carita_of_Shri_Harsha_Series#).
