Provenance
The two partially green painted examples are reputed to have come from the drawing room at Crichel House, possibly designed by James Wyatt.
The Brucciani examples almost certainly from the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. The large capital reputedly bought from the collection of a French museum.

Lot Essay

One cast from a capital in the Ante Room at Syon House, Middlesex.
The Brucciani examples cast from 15th century Istrian stone examples in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
The large capital is thought to be after a 5th century BC marble example from the Erechtheion, Greece.
