更多詳情
The glass intaglio was reproduced by Giovanni Beltrami (1770-1854) from the collection of Count Giovanni-Battista Sommariva (1760-1826). The scene of 'Pygmalion and Galatéa' is taken from a painting by Anne-Louis Girodet completed in 1813 and later exhibited in The Paris Salon in 1819 and is now in the collection the Musée du Louvre. A later painting by Francois-Louis Dejuinne (1784-1844) shows Girodet in his workshop painting 'Pygmalion et Galaté' with Count Sommariva watching him work.
