A group of Roman and Byzantine rings
Roman rings include: a silver ring set with an oval cornelian intaglio engraved with the figure of Fortuna, to a polygonal shaped hoop, probably 2nd to 3rd century A.D.; another silver ring, the rectangular bezel set with an oval cornelian intaglio engraved with the standing figure of Athena wearing a helmet and holding a spear and shield, to a ridged design hoop, probably 2nd to 3rd century A.D.; a gilt-bronze votive ring set with a cornelian intaglio engraved as a flying figure, 2nd to 3rd century A.D.; a gold ring with pierced wirework decoration, possibly 1st to 2nd century; a Roman bronze ring the bezel modelled as the bust of Zeus Serapis, 2nd century A.D.; and Byzantine rings including a bronze ring, the circular bezel engraved with a cross and inscription; and various bronze and other rings and two bronze rings possibly Archaic Greek
