In the form of an oval black champlevé enamel cartouche engraved with the crowned cipher 'N' with stylised acanthus leaves, the bezel hinged to reveal a locket compartment, finger size Q
Further details
Although the crown seems to be that of Napoleon III with eagles replacing the strawberry leaves, the style of ring is pre-1860s and was possibly made during his reign to commemorate the death of his uncle Napoleon Bonaparte
