Further details
Ruth Freeman Solomon (d. 1996) was a prominent San Franciscan and best-selling American author. Her well-known books were primarily historical fiction, based on her family's escape from Russia to the United States, and include The Candle Sticks and the Cross, Two Lives Two Lands, The Eagle and the Dove and The Ultimate Triumph. From a family deeply involved in the entertainment industry, she was also the older sister and writing editor for her brother Leonard Freeman, who wrote, directed and produced Hang 'em High and Hawaii 5-0; seminal American works in the 1960s. Mrs. Solomon was also ghost writer for her husband, the Freudian psychiatrist Joseph C. Solomon. Together, Dr. and Mrs. Solomon had two sons, one an architect and the other the founder and Head of Psychoimmunology at the University of California, Los Angeles. Their granddaughter went on to become a well-known contemporary painter.
