Working over many years on different surfaces such as traditional textile bedcovers, metal/plexi constructions or tilted large metal boxes, Levent Morgök has always been in a vital, non-ending artistic quest for the most appropriate environment where he can embed and/or liberate his drastically distorted baroque and grotesque images, creating a somehow 'theatrical' atmosphere. Being a master in using different materials and techniques, his works are not only a dance of light and shadow, withholding a taste of the Old Masters of the Renaissance, but also connecting them with the dilemmas of modern life, where the borders and many layers of human existence like conscious/unconscious, dream/reality, truth/lies mingle, merge, question or co-exist with one another.
