Over a period of thirty years, Martin and Pauline Alexander formed a legendary collection of French decorative arts. Their furniture was of exceptional quality and provenance and included works by the renowned cabinet-maker, Bernard Van Risenburgh (BVRB) as well as gold boxes and porcelain. Their collection was dispersed in a landmark single owner sale at Christie's, New York, on 30 April 1999.
