This assembly is a recreation of the 1748 Bouquet de la Dauphine, made by Marie-Josèphe for her father, Augustus III of Poland, to impress upon him the skill of the Vincennes manufactory (verus that of Meissen). The composition is thought to be by Orry de Fulvy, the founder of the Vincennes factory himself. For an illustration of this original, now in the collection of the Zwinger, Dresden, see S. Eriksen and G. de Bellaigue, Sèvres Porcelain, London, 1987, pp. 190-191.
