A MINOAN CHLORITE 'BIRD'S NEST' SPOUTED BOWL
MIDDLE MINOAN I, CIRCA 2160-1800 B.C.
With central protruding spout, two arched shoulder handles with incised detail, flattened base, border of incised alternately-hatched triangles on shoulder, thin band of incised vertical lines below, rays with hatched lines around base, interior smoothed with pierced hole leading to spout
2¾ in. (7 cm.) diam.

The Thétis Collection, Geneva, Switzerland; acquired prior to 1970.
