The shaped circular bases cast and chased with shells and scrolls, with a tapering knopped stem and a shell decorated socket, the detachable nozzles with leaf and scroll motifs, the bases and nozzles each engraved with a crest, marked underneath, on sockets and on nozzles, each engraved with scratchweight '36=3' and '5=0' and '35=6'/'4=2'

Lot Essay

The crest is that of Burton, for Charles Burton, later 1st baronet (1702-1775). Sir Charles was created a baronet in 1758 and was MP for Dublin between 1749-1760.
