MARK OF JOHN HUGH LE SAGE, LONDON, 1741
Circular with chased sides decorated with spiral fluting incorporating panels of overlapping shells, the body sitting upon a leaf-chased calyx which descends to a spreading foot with central girdle, the rim of the bowl chased with flowers and foliate scrolls, the similarly chased swing handle centred by a crested oval cartouche, marked underneath
8¼ in. (21 cm.) high; 8¾ in. (14.5 cm.) diameter; 21 oz. 10 dwt. (670 gr.)
