The spearhead is drilled with one hole, and the mottled stone is of a brownish-celadon tone with russet and darker brown streaks and inclusions throughout.

Compare the present lot to a spearhead found in the tomb of Fu Hao in Anyang, illustrated in The Jades from Yinxu, Beijing, 1982, pl. 73 (see fig. 1). A similar perforated spearhead is in the Shanghai Museum, illustrated in Shanghai Museum: Ancient Chinese Jade Gallery, Shanghai, 1996, p. 15.
