A FINELY CAST GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF A SEATED BODHISATTVA, AVALOKITESVARA
YONGLE SIX-CHARACTER INSCRIBED MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1403-1425)
The figure is cast seated in dhysanasana on a double lotus base with hands held together holding an urn. The slender figure is depicted wearing a flowing dhoti, adorned with beaded jewellery, large pendent earrings and a crown. The face is modelled with a smiling serene expression.
