A YELLOW JADE PENDANT
LATE QING DYNASTY
The pendant is carved to one side with Liu Hai standing in front of his toad, holding a centipede and beside a double-gourd motif. The reverse is decorated with four seal-script characters reading 'Liu Hai xi chan', which may be translated as 'Liu Hai playing with his toad'. The stone is of a yellowish-celadon tone with darker inclusions.
