The carver Jing Fu was active in China during the Republic Period (1911-1949) and was thought to be the first student of the famous boxwood carver Zhu Zichang.
There is a virtually identical carving by Jing Fu in the collection of the Wen Zhou Museum, Zhejiang Province.
