A FAMILLE ROSE YELLOW-GROUND 'MEDALLION' BOWL
DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The exterior of the bowl is finely decorated with four medallions depicting figures in landscapes, one in grisaille, two in sepia enamels, and one in full famille rose enamels. The medallions are encircled by leafy floral sprays reserved on a bright yellow sgraffiato ground. The interior is painted with a stylised flower head with ruyi-heads, interspersed by blue leaves.
