The vase is finely enamelled to the exterior of the oviform body with various boys at play by a gnarled pine tree. Some boys are shown carrying fruits, such as peach, pomegranates and finger citron, others with lanterns, lotus flowers, and two play with fireworks and musical instruments. Each boy is carefully detailed with colourful robes and different hairstyles. There is an iron-red ruyi-head band beneath the flared mouthrim.
