REPUBLIC PERIOD (1912-1949), JING YUAN TANG ZHI HALLMARK IN IRON-RED WITHIN A DOUBLE-SQUARE AND OF THE PERIOD
The vase is potted with a tapering body rising to a flaring mouth rim. The exterior of the body is delicately painted and enamelled with panels of landscape scenes with figures in leisurely pursuits. There is a four-character inscription to each panel identifying the scene depicted.

The inscriptions all refer to famous sights and locations in China, including Lu shan pu bu, the waterfall of the Lu mountain; and Bai lu gu dong, the ancient caves in the area of Bai Lu.
The hall mark to the base may be translated as 'the Hall of Traquility and Remoteness'.
