Lot Essay

For a short period of time in the 1970's, the Rolex Day-Date reference 1803 was available with colored dials that had the appearance of enamel. These coloured dial variants are referred to by collectors as Stella dials and are quite rare and collectible

Further examples in this auction of Rolex Day-Date in a variety of case metals and reference numbers are lots 18, 162, 163 and 164.
