Reference 4099 is one of the rarest chronographs of the Rolex's non-Oyster chronograph family. It stands out by its substantial and angled spider-leg lugs. It was made in stainless steel or stainless steel and gold.

The present example impresses by its virtually mint condition, the case showing no wear and its proportions remaining astoundingly crisp. Most evident to the beholders eye is the satin finish on the case back, still retaining the finely engraved Rolex crown and serial number. To our knowledge, not more than 100 pieces of this reference were produced and one cannot think of another example in better condition.
