With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with raised gold indexes in 1949 and its subsequent sale on 21 October 1949.

Reference 2509 was launched in 1950 and fitted with the regular calibre 12'''400 and few fitted with calibre 12'''120, such as the present watch. Mainly available in gold, the model is distinguished by its sporty design and the water-resistant-type case with screw back.
