A FINE AND RARE 18K GOLD OPENFACE TWO TRAIN MINUTE REPEATING STOPPABLE CENTER SECONDS WATCH WITH FLYING 1/4TH OF A SECOND, ORIGINAL CERTIFICATE AND BOX SIGNED JAMES NARDIN, LOCLE, NO. 11’481, CIRCA 1890 Cal. 19’’’ mechanical two train movement, 41 jewels, minute repeating on two hammers, gold cuvette, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute and seconds ring, centre seconds, sunk flying 1/4ths of a second dial, circular case, repeating slide and seconds start/ stop button in the ribbed band, case and cuvette signed and numbered, dial and movement signed 55 mm. diam.

With James Nardin original certificate with timing results to the back, original fitted wooden presention box signed No. 11481 James Nardin Locle.

James Nardin, also known as James Nardin-Perret, was a cousin of Ulysse Nardin, also located in Le Locle. He specialized in the production of chronometer watches and obtained an US patent for a stem-wound watch in 1869.
