Lightly incised with a kiko pattern and pierced with a waterwheel, the rim slightly raised, fitted wood box with dedication "iron mokko tsuba, waterwheel motif abounding in character beloved of Soshin Sensei"

Lot Essay

This is a very rare artist with only one or two examples known, little is known about him but Haynes states that there is an affinity in style and metal to the 1st (Kiyosu) Nobuie.
