The oval iron plate has a flowerhead rim which encloses a pierced design of fans, birds, ginger flowers, and tea whisks, the surface of both sides is decorated details carved in fine lines

Akasaka Tadashige (1730-1816) was a student of Akasaka Tadamune (Tadatoki I, 1707-circa 1750). This example is closer to the later Owari school than it is to the Akasaka.
