The smith, Kinoshita Koichi (d. 1953) of Nagasaki, was adopted into the school of Tadayoshi of Hizen province, taking the name Yoshitada reversing the two characters of the name Tadayoshi. He became an army smith, and continued making swords in the Hizen tradition after the war.
