Signed Kyoto Miyabe Atsuyoshi and kakihan, Meiji Period (late 19th century)
Each vase inlaid in silver, copper and gilt with two oval panels alternately depicting birds and insects among autumn grasses, fish in a stream, cranes under a cherry tree and birds among snow covered bamboo, bordered by copper panels incised with a geometric pattern, the shoulder with cranes in flight and mythical creatures amongst waves to the foot
