Lot Essay

The Venetian jeweler A. Codagnato was founded in 1866 by Simeone Codognato (1822-1897). His son, Attilio (1867-1928), was inspired by Estrucan work found in archeological digs which led him to create revolutionary jewelry designs such as this unusual and distinctive cane handle. Codagnato remains in its original location at San Marco 1295 and are still known for their unusal and creative jewelry.
