Tasting note: Three notes. Fairly deep, plummy; perfect acidity, noticeable tannin. A year later (2003), richly coloured; rich, floral fragrance, very varietal; medium-sweet, very firm, crisp, good length, stylish wine. Most recently, a magnum: on opening, a whiff of ripe merde, deep, rich, Pinot, after an hour displaying deep fragrance; assertive, beautiful flavour, refreshing acidity, tannic. Magnificent but needs time. Last tasted Oct 2005 (*****) 2012 - 2025. M.B.
