Very bin-soiled labels. Levels: one base of neck and one top-shoulder
Tasting note: A great '47. In its early days noted for its beauty and power, stylish but hard and steely. Developed well, sweet, earthy, fabulous in the mid-1990s. Most recently, upper shoulder level, superb; still very deep; distinctive scent of vanilla and mocha. Very fragrant. A superb wine though creaking a bit, beginning to show its age. Still tannic. Last tasted March 2003. At best ***** M.B.
