Château Latour--Vintage 1964
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
Bin-soiled labels. Levels: one top, one just below top and one mid-shoulder
Tasting note: Now variable. Fully mature but with lovely flavour in 2000. Two very recent notes, the first: showing maturity; sweaty (still tannic) cheesy nose; drying out, losing fruit, very tannic. The most recent: colour still fairly impressive; overripe and slightly corky nose; medium-sweet, gamey, 'on the verge' and with dull aftertaste. Last tasted Dec 2005. Variable. At best **** M.B.
