Lot Essay

The present work has been attributed erroneously to the Rhenish Master of Hildegardus by Alfred Stange in the past. Stylistically it dates to circa 1520 and is close to Antwerp Mannerism, in particular to a group of works by the so-called Master of the Antwerp Adoration.
