A LARGE GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The meditative figure with tightly curled hair and downcast eyes is cast seated in dhyanasana with the right hand held in bhumisparsamudra, the loose flowing robes open at the bare chest reveal the buddhist swastika, wan, the edges of the robes and the ribboned undergarment are detailed with lotus heads and scrolling foliage.
