DATED FIRST MONTH OF BING ZI YEAR, CORRESPONDING TO 1936
The circular brushwasher with inverted rim is finely painted to the interior with two seated scholars playing flute on a boat, in a rocky landsacpe, below pine tree branches, inscribed xian zhou di yun, and presented to Mr. Zheng Bo by Li Futian, painted by Yu wenxiang, with a seal reading zhi yin, a blue enamelled qi zhen sheng yu mark to the base.
4½ in. (11.5 cm.) diam.

Yu Wenxiang (1910-1993), style name xun song, hua shun, studied under He Xuren from 1925 for six years. He is famous for his snow scenes.
