MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The standing smiling figure is carved holding two cats, one in his right hand and the other clambering onto his head, the yellow stone with russet inclusions. The standing boy is carved wearing loosely flowing robes and trousers and holding a bird, the pale and dark grey stone with russet flecks and inclusions.

Provenance
From a Private East Asian Collection predominantly formed in the 1980s and 1990s in Hong Kong, acquired in 1984 and 1990 respectively.
