A LARGE CELADON JADE BUDDHA MOUNTED ON A GILT BRONZE STAND
18TH CENTURY
The smiling Buddha with downcast eyes is seated on a lotus base in dhyanasana with his hands in dhyana mudra cupping a Buddhist shrine, his robes fall in loose folds about his body spilling over the base, the incised bronze lotus base is drilled with two holes securing the Buddha, the mottled stone has cloudy inclusions.
