A THREE-FOLD HARDWOOD EMBROIDERED SILK SCREEN
EARLY 19TH CENTURY
The midnight blue silk ground is embroidered in ivory silks and couched gilt metal threads with a peacock, a pheasant, a crane and other exotic birds and butterflies bathing and amidst bamboo and flowering blossom branches, the wood is deeply carved, with three separate head pieces.
Each including the head piece 21 in. x 55 in. (53 cm. x 140 cm.) (4)
