De Falla's austere setting for voice and harp of Gongora's celebration of his native city was composed for the tercentenary of the poet's death: the inscription to the present manuscript commemorates its first performance by Magdaleine Greslé, with the harpist Lucile Wurmser-Delcourt, at the Salle Pleyel in Paris on 14 May 1927. AUTOGRAPH MUSIC MANUSCRIPTS BY DE FALLA ARE RARE AT AUCTION: ABPC-online/Americana Exchange record no examples in the last 20 years.
