Two letters signed to Raimond de Veccarie de Pavie, baron de Fourquevaux, the French ambassador in Spain, 7 January 1562 and 6 September 1567, the first acknowledging gifts, including three gerfalcons, the second complaining at being left without news, and of the behaviour of the Spanish king towards 'mes pauvres subiects', together 2 pages, folio, the second countersigned by Claude de l'Aubespine, integral address panels;
with letters signed by HENRI III (three, to Mr de Campaignac, 24 August 1579, to Cardinal Dancelot, 15 December 1587, expressing his thanks for 'la Grace que Dieu ma faicte de dissipper ceste Grande armee estragnere et Jeter hors de mon royaulme', and to the Duc d'Aumale, 8 February 1588, ordering him to leave Picardy immediately, 'en vous comportant an surplus en toutes voz actions selon qu'il appartient a ung Prince'), HENRI IV (to the Vicomte de Comblesy at Chateau Thierry, 12 July 1590, warning of an approaching enemy army (old damp-staining)), FRANÇOIS I (document signed on vellum, damaged), CHARLES V, Holy Roman Emperor (to the Burgermeister and Council of Frankfurt, 6 September 1552, in German), MARGARET OF PARMA, Regent of the Netherlands (to Ambassador Vargas, 14 March 1561, in Spanish, on religious tensions in the United Provinces, an amended draft) and CHRISTINA OF SWEDEN (30 August 1645, in Swedish, about troop movements during the Thirty Years War).
