CONTEMPORARY ROMAN BINDING BY NICCOLò FRANZESE: red-brown goatskin over thin pasteboard panelled in gilt and blind with shaped fillets, open and solid fleurons, figure of St. John the Baptist at centre of each sides, spine with alternate single and double raised bands tooled with single or multiple diagonal fillets, flower-head in compartments, elaboratel gilt and gauffered knotwork edges (missing fore-edge ties, some stains, some restoration, mainly at corners and spine).
